| Besides the TPS, Is there a way to control when the Idle ON Status is set to activate? I am working on improving off throttle deceleration smoothness by blending the values in the timing map cells. Significant progress has been made until the Idle ON Status is activated; then the timing drops immediately to 15' BTDC. In terms of driving, anytime I lift my foot off the accelerator, the timing drops to 15' because the TPS goes into Idle ON status. The effect is immediate and premature engine braking which creates an On/Off jerkiness and bucking under 2500 rpm. I would like the status to remain OFF above a given set parameter so that the timing [as loaded into the timing map] will be controlled by, and gradually reduced in sych with, the rpms and TMP load cells. This theory was tested by adjusting the TPS to above .54 volts at which point the Idle Switch remains OFF. Driving smoothness is drastically improved without the engine falling into a 15' hole every time I lift off of the gas pedal. However the downside is that I lose all of the idle functions, e.g., ECU soft idle control. Hence my question: How to activate the Idle ON Status at a given rpm or road speed level using something other than the TPS and/or accelerator pedal.
